Straight answers about piercing

Mods Body is a reference for body piercing: how to get pierced, how to heal cleanly, which jewelry is actually safe, and where the practice comes from. The aim for every guide is the same. Be the clearest, most accurate answer to the question that brought you here, and leave out the myths that follow body art around.

How we write

Every guide starts from professional standards, not guesswork. We follow the aftercare and jewelry guidance of the Association of Professional Piercers, cite dermatology and medical sources for anything health related, and say plainly when a popular tip is wrong. We do not invent statistics, studies, or reviews. If a claim cannot be verified, it does not go on the page.

Who it is for

Most people who land here are dealing with something specific. A piercing that is a week old and looks angry. A jewelry size they are unsure about. A placement they are weighing. We write for that reader first, in plain language, then add the depth that piercers and long-time collectors want. No judgment about what you pierce or why.

What we will not do

We do not fear-monger, and we do not dress up guesses as facts. Piercing is safe when it is done well and cared for properly, and most problems trace back to a few avoidable mistakes. Our job is to explain those clearly so you can skip them.

Not medical advice

Our guides are educational. They are not a substitute for a reputable piercer or a medical professional. If a piercing looks infected or something feels wrong and keeps getting worse, see one in person.
